Knee Ligament & Fracture Care

Knee pain or injuries present a unique set of challenges and require a comprehensive plan of care from a knee specialist. Fortunately, the comprehensive knee team at Orthopedic Center of Florida offers the latest in both non-surgical and minimally invasive surgical options. Our knee team consists of Board Certified and Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Surgeons, who specialize in everything from sports injuries to knee arthritis and knee replacement.

We treat a variety of knee conditions utilizing the latest non-surgical and surgical techniques. Common conditions we treat and procedures we offer include:

Knee Replacement Surgery – depending upon the location of arthritis in the knee, our knee replacement specialists may recommend a total knee replacement or a partial knee replacement. The specific type of knee replacement surgery that is right for you will be discussed between you and your Orthopedic Center of Florida physician.

ACL Tears – these usually occur during athletic activity such as when a person jumps or during abrupt movements.

A torn meniscus, otherwise known as Meniscus Tears , can cause pain and limited mobility in the knee . A common symptom is a clicking sound in the knee and limited mobility.

Other common knee conditions that result from sports injuries or extensive athletic activity are Patellar Tendonitis (Jumper’s Knee) or Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (Runner’s Knee). Both conditions place severe stress on the cartilage or kneecap and symptoms include pain under and around the knee which can increase during physical activity.

Tibial Fractures of the knee are a break in the shin bone, called the tibia. Diseases can weaken this bone and cause it to crack or break, but direct trauma to the leg is the most common cause of this fracture.

Prepatellar Bursitis (Kneecap Bursitis) occurs when the front of the kneecap becomes inflamed resulting in swelling. Roofers, plumbers, carpet layers and other people who spend long periods of time on their knees have an increased risk for this condition.

Orthopedic Center of Florida’s entire method is designed to provide the highest level of service ranging from prevention to diagnosis to treatment and to rehabilitation.
