Biography
Dr. Berra completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Michigan and attended medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic medicine where he trained alongside world leaders in orthopedics from the Rothman Institute, New England Baptist and the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics. Dr. Berra went on to further subspecialize and completed a fellowship in complex hip and knee replacement at Bronxcare Health System in the Bronx, New York. There, he was trained in minimally invasive surgical techniques, direct anterior total hip replacement, robotic assisted joint replacement, complex primary and revision total joint replacement, and rapid recovery outpatient joint replacement.
During Dr. Berra’s training he was able to work with many of the nation’s top surgeons in New York City, Philadelphia, Boston and Baltimore and develop a diverse orthopedic skillset. He also trained at Cooper Trauma Center, one of the busiest orthopedic trauma centers, and gained extensive experience in fracture care and trauma. Dr. Berra has been involved in cutting edge orthopedic research, published articles, and obtained the 10th highest written board exam score in the country.
