John N. Mehalik, M.D. is a Board-Certified, Fellowship- Trained Orthopedic Surgeon, specializing in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and knee. Dr. Mehalik completed a Bachelor’s degree from each Miami University and Case Western Reserve University prior to attending the University of Cincinnati for his Master’s Degree in Biomechanical Engineering.

Dr. Mehalik has completed ground-breaking, influential research projects in the fields of human cartilage repair, knee ligament mechanics, arthroscopic shoulder reconstruction and all-arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.
Locally, Dr. Mehalik has introduced several new advances in surgical treatment to our area, including meniscus allograft transplantation, arthroscopic shoulder instability reconstruction, and all-arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. He also served as the team physician for all levels of professional, collegiate and high school sporting activities.
Dr. Mehalik’s passion is the advancement of arthroscopic and minimally-invasive, reconstructive procedures for the shoulder and knee. He continues to teach arthroscopic surgery to residents, fellows, and practicing orthopedic surgeons nationally and internationally. His expertise and experience have distinguished him as an authority in the diagnosis and management of both common and complicated shoulder and knee problems.
